Paradise Cove Aquatics Complex is open for business. A grand opening took place April 9th, marking the countys makeover and renaming of CB Smith Parks 22 year-old Flume Lagoon water park. The Pembroke Pines park is expected to draw visitors from all over Broward County. PARK REDO MOVING RAPIDLY By Nick Sortal Staff Writer, South Florida Sun-Sentinel March 5, 2004 PEMBROKE PINES · Construction continues at a rapid pace at C.B. Smith Park as workers revamp the aquatics attraction so it can be used this spring. The 4.69-acre aquatics complex, which will be renamed Paradise Cove, will replace the Flume Lagoon water park. The park's old tube ride and the lagoon area have been gutted. In their place is the groundwork for a Wacky Waterway pool, two large water-play areas and new concession buildings and restrooms. The two existing 400-foot water slides from the 22-year-old Flume Lagoon will remain, but they are being refurbished....read more. |
